We understand that every project is unique and different from the last. As a result, we provide a range of services tailored to each individual projects needs, be it a large landscape masterplan or a small and intimate suburban courtyard.

Initial consultation

An initial consultation is the first step of any design intervention.  A member of the JBG Gardens Team will meet you on site to gain a better understanding of the site and your vision for the project. The initial consult is charged at $150 per session which is expected to take between 1-2hrs. At this time we will discuss the best way to move forward and what type of design package is best suited to your needs. If you choose to move forward with the project the initial cost of $150 is included in the final price.

Garden styling session

A walk-through of your property will be arranged where we can discuss the current state of the garden, possible future interventions, plant and material selection and general styling to assist you in sparking some ideas for future development. If needed a plants list or further information may be provided to assist you to construct the garden at your leisure.

Landscape concept and planting plans

After a thorough walk-though and assessment of your property, we will produce a design for the discussed area. Upon approval we will then proceed to prepare a set of detailed drawings including a concept plan, planting plan and section elevations.

DA and Construction Certificate drawings

The plans produced will provide enough information for you to approach a landscape contractor for construction. JBG Gardens do offer a landscape construction service to assist you with the installation of our designs. The plans provided will include locations of all landscape features and elements i.e. grassed areas, paving, retaining walls, pergolas etc., include all spot levels and retaining wall heights, plant selection and locations, lighting, drainage systems and their locations.

If Council approval is required after the concept plan stage we have the capabilities, experience to provide a set of working construction plans and details to assist you with this approval process. Our experience and qualifications in landscape construction assists us in providing all construction details and documentation to a high standard throughout this phase.

Master planning

Our overall masterplan landscape designs are ideal for large properties and country estates. These plans provide the ideal framework to help you build and create a unique and interesting environment like no other. Our masterplans involve creating a strong recurring theme that is carried throughout the design, and assist the landscape to comfortably fit together as one. Materiality and plant selection is a crucial and key element of such planning and will be explored and tested throughout the design phase.

Project management

Taking on the task of managing a garden or property redevelopment can be a stressful and time consuming ordeal, to assist you we offer an optional project management service which may be as thorough as contacting contractors, organising and comparing quotes and supervising the project from start to finish or as simple as organising plants and materials.
