This landscape design and construction project was located just outside the rural village of Berry on the South Coast of NSW. The JBG Gardens team took inspiration from the architecture of the federation style cottage to set the mood, theme and direction for the landscape design. With a young family, the clients also needed a garden that was low maintenance and suited to the needs of all members of the family.
We borrowed elements from the Arts and Crafts era and traditional cottage garden themes to create this contemporary cottage garden that compliments the house and works with the surrounding rural landscape. The garden was divided into sections, to create a multifunctional landscape that can be used by all members of the family at various times throughout the day, all year round.
Structure, plant selection and planting is the back bone of the design with an emphasis on creating a seamless fusion between the house and garden.
